You can subscribe to Remind1 directly from the Google Calendar app.

What is a reminder?
Remind1 uses "reminders" as a base unit for everything you do with Remind1.
Whenever an SMS message is sent for you, one "reminder" is used (this is also true for cancellation notifications).
Examples
If you send a reminder to 2 recipients, 2 reminders will be used.
If you send an immediate confirmation message (can be set up in your message settings) additionally, 4 reminders will be used (2 reminders for the confirmation messages to 2 recipients + 2 reminders for the reminder messages to 2 recipients).
If one of the recipients cancels the event and you have the cancellation notification activated, an additional reminder will be used (for a total of 5 in this example).
